LKMco has helped clients from small to large, public to private and primary to university.
LKMco has led a broad partnership of national charities as interim national program manager for a £5 million financial capability program targeting 100,000 NEET young people through innovative peer education. We had previously designed a national volunteering program for the programe's sponsor.
Director Loic Menzies is part of the NYA’s associate register and can deliver Hear By Right training as well as assessment for this award. He has also helped the organisation design a proposal for a Business to Voluntary and Community Sector brokerage program and prepared and implemented a partnership strategy involving over 80 partner organisations for a major national campaign.
Director Loic Menzies worked with a team of two Associates to research and write a major forthcoming report on governance in schools in challenging circumstances. The research involved a substantial quantitative element as well as a series of in depth qualitative interviews. The report promises to change the way we see governance in the future.
In 2010, Director Loic Menzies attended all three party conferences to present his chapter in Teachfirst’s forthcoming publication on Culture and Ethos in Challenging Schools.
In the past Loic has prepared and presented a workshop on the role of teachers in “Filling the Youth Development Vacuum” at their national conference. He has also developed a workshop on educational social enterprise workshop for them.
City Gateway marry high quality youth work with practical, work based training that focuses on engaging NEET (Not in Education, Employment or Training) young people.
LKMco worked with City Gateway to write their Self Assessment Report and prepare for their first Ofsted inspection. We carried out a series of reviews and trained tutors to observe each other and improve their teaching. As a result, City Gateway achieved outstanding in every category. We also helped the organisation achieve the first ever Hear By Right Gold Award.
Canterbury Christ Church University
Canterbury Christ Church University is one of the country’s top teacher training providers. In 2010 LKMco researched and planned a new approach to "Teaching for Diversity" for the university's "outstanding" Graduate Training Program. This included school based training materials and a series of workshops.
Director Loic Menzies is a University Tutor on their Graduate and Registered Teacher Training Program (GRTP).
Teachers TV
LKMco was commissioned to design school based professional development resources which incorporated Teachers TV videos. LKMco prepared and resourced two sessions on How to Teach Outstanding Lessons.
These resources have now been accessed over 13,000 times.
The Royal Society for Public Health
LKMco was commissioned to launch a new project exploring Health Literacy in Primary Schools. Loic visited schools and researched opportunities for development and facilitated and presented a one day Health Literacy summit. His report on "Charting a Health Literacy Journal" will soon be published in Perspectives in Public Health.
LKMco researched and compiled a report for ATA Management on the use of franchise models by social enterprises for a client that was looking for the best replication strategy.
The report's findings have subsequently been featured by the Guardian Professional Network and in a substantial report by the Social-Enterprise Coalition
St. Thomas More R.C School (Haringey)
In 2010-11 LKMco supported the new Head of 6th Form in turning around provision in this challenging Haringey school. Director Loic Menzies carried out regular audits and reviews, and worked with associates to deliver specially tailored training which yielded very rapid improvements in the school's quality of provision. St. George’s R.C. Secondary School
Having left the full time staff at St. George’s, Loic returned to deliver fast-track GCSEs and carried out a cross curricula Citizenship audit, observations and line management/reviews. He also supported departmental improvement planning at the school. He worked with the school during their 2010 Ofsted inspection at which they were judged “Outstanding”.
